After getting a sneak peek at the latest Donnelly venue at last week's Lucky Peach event, Eater's earlier assessment that this huge two-storey, 8,800 sqft space plans to be pretty much all things to all people seems to be spot on. Attractions include a barbershop, oyster bar and billiards tables along with a stage for live music from 4p.m. daily. The bars include a long under-lit number inspired by The Shining and a racetrack-shaped scotch bar serving 70 different whiskies. Each of the bars will serve 24 different craft beers on tap and award-winning bartender Jay Jones has created a craft cocktail list. Yesterday Organic Ocean's Steve Johansen was tweeting pictures of Haida Gwaii Northern Coho, ling cod and trap-caught humpback shrimps all destined for the Blackbird kitchens so it's fair to guess that fresh, sustainable and local will be the focus for food.
