Blackbird Bar Marks 20th Venue for Donnelly Group

Another Donnelly Group venue (the second this summer after the West End's Three Brits) is scheduled to open this fall at 595 Hornby, in the old Keg Caesar location at the corner of Dunsmuir and Hornby.

A job ad email said that Blackbird will be a "multi-faceted, two-storey location that will cater to lunch and dinner service, fine spirits, cocktail culture and craft beer enthusiasts, sports watching, live music and general indulgence," essentially a little bit of something for everyone.

Designed by Craig Stanghetta (Bao Bei, L'Abattoir, Meat & Bread, Revolver, Clough Club), highlights include an oyster bar, patio on Dunsmuir, games area (billiards, foosball, shuffleboard), live music stage and dance floor. Donnelly brand ambassador and 2013 BC Restaurant Hall of Fame inductee Jay Jones has led the cocktail-heavy program which promises savoury cocktails for the oyster bar, a scotch-focused program for the scotch bar and gin-focused cocktails for the main bar. Blackbird will be the Donnelly Group's 20th location in their ever-expanding empire of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs.
