Mindful Meat; Sonoma Wineries in City; Grouse Mountain Launches Winter Wednesday Socials

DOWNTOWN— Sonoma wineries are making their annual visit to the city on Wednesday February 5 at the Terminal City Club from 630-9p.m. Almost two dozen wineries will be in attendance including Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Kunde Family Estate. Tickets are $55 each plus handling fee with a percentage raised going to the BC Hospitality Foundation. [Eaterwire]

GROUSE MOUNTAIN— Altitudes Bistro on top of Grouse Mountain is hosting Wednesday Winter Socials from 29 January. Ski the slopes or strap on your snowshoes and head for the trails then make for Altitudes to chill with DJs, prizes, tunes and food and drink specials from Granville Island Beer. [Eaterwire]

NEW WEST— Ethical eating will be on the menu at Mindful Meat, a special night hosted by Urban Digs Farm at the River Market on February 22. The evening will begin with a reception with food from Re-Up BBQ and Longtail Kitchen with craft beers from Coal Harbour Brewing Co, then a screening of American meat, a "solutions-oriented documentary about pork, beef and chicken production" and finally a panel discussion to end the night.
