Four unexpected words from Alexandra Gill this week, "Boy, was I wrong" as she launches into a love letter to Bestie, regretting that she'd ever had doubts over their culinary chops. She declares them a "... soulful, chef-driven gem offering a beery, cheery, clearly defined focus, nourishing side dishes and modern oom-pah-pah chic" and swoons over everything from the owners and interior decor to the currywurst, "an ooey-gooey scrumptious mess." Of course, not everything is perfect; the sauerkraut could do with a dash more vinegar or wine, but it turns out if you want to make the notoriously hard-to-please Gill happy, you just need to throw a sausage fest.
