Levykh Cracks Yolks; Stainsby Finds Canyon

Anya Levykh dives into breakfast at Yolks this week and finds "free-range eggs from Abbotsford poached to runny, creamy perfection" and "deep-fried chicken with waffles is slightly on the salty side ... but the flesh is moist and tender, and the waffles are chewy and have a pleasant texture." Smiles all around too at the beignets, "served with salted caramel dipping sauce and dusted with confectioner's sugar" which earns an overall score of 3.
Over at the Sun, Mia Stainsby checks out Canyon in Edgemont Village and enjoys "salads with snap" and "proteins cooked perfectly." Her standout on the menu is a "duck breast with fingerling potatoes... with beautifully moist meat, crisped golden skin and a light sauce", however a waitress who "pushed the dish across the table like a curling stone" was less impressive as are management's unrealistic tipping options of 25%, all of which adds up to a score of 3.5 overall.
