This summer on Canada Day, YEW Seafood chef Ned Bell will be cycling across Canada starting in Newfoundland and ending in Vancouver - an incredible journey which will take ten weeks with Ned pedalling between 140km and 200km each day.
The aim is to raise awareness for sustainable seafood in Canada through his Chefs for Oceans organization. Ned will be stopping in major cities along the way, collaborating with our nation's chefs and raising money for Vancouver Aquarium's Ocean Wise programme, SeaChoice and the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
The main objective is to create a movement that will ensure every Canadian can easily access sustainable seafood within the next decade - one part of this is the move to create a National Sustainable Seafood Day. We'll be covering this in more detail with updates from Ned on the road as he crosses Canada.
If you want to help support the ride, you can donate and buy one of the custom branded cans of premium albacore 'Ned's Tuna" - you can get this at EAT Vancouver on May 30, 31, June 1.
