Chicha To Launch Brunch Menu; English Bay Cactus Club Concession Stand Finally Open

WEST END — It's official: summer is definitely here as the last of the seasonal outlets finally flings its windows open. Cactus Club's English Bay concession opens today in the West End. Alas, no longer serving Rob Feenie's beach burger or the ling cod taco; now just three tacos are on offer (beef, bean, chicken) for $5 along with sides of salsa, guacamole and chips. [EW]

MAIN STREET —Food, drinks, DJs - you know the score. The Hawkers Market is back on June 28 for its biggest party yet. In a change of venue they are heading up to Maker Labs on Main for a "Main STREAT Food Party" (sic). Tickets are $10 plus fee. [EW]

MOUNT PLEASANT — Chicha is launching a brunch menu this weekend with a full sheet of Peruvian-flavoured breakfast favourites. Items include ceviche and seafood chowder plus Huevos Benedict on cassava root with zucchini and gluten-free corn cakes and buttermilk and sweet potato waffles with dulche de leche crema. All eggs are free-range and suppliers include Two Rivers and Pemberton Meadows farm. [EW]
