Evening of Effervescence With Joy Road; Food Truck Festival Rolling into Surrey

ON THE AIRWAVES— Calling all beer fans! The Donnelly Group is branching out into podcasting with the Pints Podcast. They've assembled a stellar cast of hopheads including co-founder of Vancouver Craft Beer Week & Parallel 49 Marketing Manager Chris Bjerrisgaard and AM 730 & CKNW 980's Ed Garcia along with weekly special guests. The first episode featured Ben Love from Gigantic Brewing in Portland and Episode #2 featured stand up comedian Dino Archie. [EW]

SURREY— The Food Cart Fest is coming to Surrey! Launching on Saturday July 5 from 12-5p.m for nine weeks until August 30, the New City Hall Plaza will host some 15 food trucks with select vendors from Surrey's newly-approved food truck list plus visiting Vancouver trucks including Holy Perogy, Le Tigre, Re-Up BBQ, Roaming Dragon, Soho Road, and Vij's Railway Express. Entrance is $2 or free to Vancity members or with a non-perishable donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. [EW]

OKANAGAN— Head to Linden Gardens in Kaleden on July 18 between 6.30-9.30p.m. for a dressed-up evening of effervescence with Joy Road Catering and sparkling wine from the region's best wineries. Take Gatsby meets the Charleston as your inspiration and come dressed in your best flapper outfit or dapper suit. Elephant Island, Sumac Ridge, Orofino, Bella, 8th Generation, Therapy Vineyards, Blue Mountain, and Haywire will be pouring sparkling wines to pair with food stations set up around the gardens showcasing local specialities like Outlandish Shellfish and Northern Divine organic caviar. Entertainment will include a swing band and an exhibit of vintage cars, and guests are encouraged to dress up in their finest Great Gatsby style. Tickets are $99 (plus GST). [EW]
