GASTOWN Secret Location's chef Jefferson Alvarez is hosting a one-of-a-kind collaborative feast with Thiago Castanho, Executive Chef of Remanso do Bosque, one of the 50 best Latin American restaurants. DOWNTOWN— News from the hotly-anticipated Gyoza Bar from the Minami/Miku team, who will be giving a new twist to gyoza in the city by making extra-crispy Teppan Gyoza which "...use an ancient Japanese cooking technique with "imono" cast iron pans." They will also serve ramen hand-made in-house with a north American take on a new Japanese popular flavour: tomato, to create a tomato-saffron seafood broth. Opening is still on track for July. [EW]
