Unless a very generous cat-loving benefactor appears in the next day it looks like Vancouver will not be home to the Kitty Corner catfe. At the time of writing the Catfe needs around $22,000 and has 38 hours to raise it. The race is currently on across North America to open the first permanent Cat Cafe, although thus far, crowd-sourced attempts are not going well and regular cafe owners don't seem to see petting cats as a solid business model. Recent crowd-sourced efforts in LA to raise $350,000 failed and it looks like Portland's Purrington's cat Lounge may also fail - it has eight days left to raise around $41,000.
