Earls is hosting a reception, mingler and then a Q & A moderated by the Globe & Mail's restaurant critic Alexandra Gill with all 7 women chefs from Top Chef Canada, season 4 on August 23 from 5.30p.m. Tickets are $105 and include reception appetizers, signature cocktail, wine, panel discussion, dessert and gratuity, proceeds to Les Dames d'Escoffier, BC Chapter scholarship program.[EW]

 VANCOUVER ISLAND — The 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery has just announced a change of ownership with Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig from Fort St John taking over from founder Bill Montgomery who has now retired. A lineup of Okanagan-grown wines will be added to the portfolio under the name Stall Speed that will be made with the Summerland-based Okanagan Crush Pad including a Meritage and a Merlot Icewine.
