Chambar held a 'hard hats' preview last week to show off their work-in-progress space that is scheduled to open within the next few weeks. Regulars already in mourning for the old space which opened ten years ago should put away their Kleenex; there is plenty to love here too. The new dining room area is huge - almost twice the size of its original next door with some 270 seats split between two levels. Downstairs will house the familiar cosy booths and there is also a patio with space for around 50.
Upstairs, there are more treasures to be discovered; a private roof terrace which holds 168 boasting a jaw-clanging view of the city - which looks set to become the must-have wedding/engagement/celebration venue for the city just about the second that it opens. Impressively it's just a $1000 hire fee, plus any food and beverage costs. We'll bring you news of the last day of the old space and, of course, an opening date for Chambar 2.0. In the meanwhile take a look around and watch your step.
