CHINATOWN— It's almost a year since Mamie Taylor's opened its doors, and to celebrate Ron, Simon and chef Tobias are throwing a complimentary Southern pig roast buffet with a heap of fixin's on Sunday August 10 from 5p.m. till late. Drinks specials are also on the menu all night with $3 draft, wine and well drinks plus $5 Mamie Taylor cocktails. The dining room will be open for regular evening service too. [EW]

GRANVILLE ISLAND— The Liberty Distillery is releasing a limited edition of Railspur No. 2 White; an un-aged honeyed whiskey. Made on Granville Island with 100% BC organic barley, triple-distilled and infused with Chilliwack Wildflower Honey, it's out on BC Day. [EW]
