Thomas Haas, 10a.m Tuesday

Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Nikki Bayley visits some of the city's great eating spots to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today we visit Thomas Haas at his North Vancouver cafe.

It was never meant to be a cafe location, but when Thomas Haas opened up his North Van production facility a decade ago people kept coming for his award-winning pastries and chocolates - and now it's one of Vancouver's most popular 'destination dining' locations. As the first wave of coffee and croissant fans gives way to post-school run mums and dads, and locals seeking a sweet treat, behind the doors a frenzy of activity is going on; chocolates being made and wrapped for delivery, custom orders filled and pastries prepared to be sent to stores, hotels and other restaurants across Vancouver. Join us now for a peek behind the scenes.
