New Tasting Menu At Hawkworth; Pandan Waffle Mayhem at Crackle Creme

CHINATOWN— Get your green waffle on at Crackle Creme who tweeted earlier that they are now doing pandan liege waffles along with their daily-changing crème brûlée. [EW]

DOWNTOWN— Hawksworth has a new tasting six-course menu which launched last week and includes a wild salmon tartar with jalapeño, yuzu and puffed squid ink, slow cooked lobster with bacon, parmesan, cauliflower and thyme, and a roast lamb saddle with charred fig, fig leaf curd, black olive, mache. Priced at $98  or $148 with wine flight, splurge and see why Hawksworth are consistently at the top of any Vancouver restaurant recommendations list. [EW]

ALL ACROSS BC— Hats off to everyone who helped make this year's Pirate Pak Day at White Spot such a success.  $78,786 was raised this year for charity, helping send over 50 kids and young adults to camp with a record breaking 39,350 Pirate Paks sold on the day, 20 per cent more than last year. [EW]
