Burger King To Merge With Tim Hortons; US Senator Calls For BK Boycott

Canada got a little bit less Canadian this morning as Burger King confirmed that they are buying Tim Hortons. The 'have it your way' fast food behemoths will move to Canada in an $11.4 billion merger in an apparent attempt to pay less tax. American politicians are already calling for a BK boycott with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown calling on consumers to,

...turn to Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers or White Castle sliders. ..two Ohio companies that haven't abandoned their country or customers.
Burger King's Facebook site has been flooded by angry burger fans like Brett Branson: "If you do an inversion deal, Burger King will NEVER have me or anybody in my family as a customer ever again. I love BK, but I also love my country." Thus far there seems to have been no such similar call to boycott Tim's from Canadians, presumably the lure of the double double being too strong to resist.
