Help Purebread Rise Again; Lukes Moves to Gastown

WHISTLER— Bakery favourites Purebread have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their highly-anticipated Vancouver opening. Purebread is "offering unique rewards in exchange for funds towards equipment following the effects of a devastating fire on their business last year." The business is seeking a target of $50,000 before Sunday 21st September, to contribute towards the $200,000 start-up costs of their forthcoming West Hastings and Cambie Street location. Purebread are offering everything from pin badges to bike jerseys, patio furniture to a year of bread in pursuit of their goal. GASTOWN— Hipsters, take heart: after the success of their Chinatown pop-up, Luke's General Store has found a permanent home at 49 West Hastings and will be opening soon as Canada's first Four Barrel coffee retailer. You'll also be able to pick up everything from Mast Brothers chocolate, McClure's Pickles and Cartems donuts. Opening date should be mid-September. Watch this space for more. [EW]
