Gods of the Grill Goes on Sale; Dr Peter Dinner By Design Benefit Set to 'Mess With People's Heads'

DOWNTOWN— Tickets are now on sale for this year's benefit for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation the Dinner By Design Cocktail Art! party. Leading the charge this year, Absolut Brand Ambassador Jacob Sweetapple has assembled a crack team of bartenders including Grant 'World Class' Sceney and the Keefer bar's Gez McAlpine. "We'll be messing with people's heads in the best possible sense," says Sweetapple. "We want to really push the envelope on what can be done with cocktails so they are as much a work of art as the other components of Dinner by Design." Eighteen of the city's top interior designers will create tablescapes and bars that will serve as a backdrop for the Cocktail Art! reception on Sunday, September 21 and the multi-course menu of Dinner by Design on Monday, September 22. [EW]

WEST END— Tickets are now on sale for the 'Gods of the Grill' Dinners on September 10th and 11th at CinCin featuring the dazzling grill skills of South America's most famous barbecue chef Francis Mallmann. CinCin's chef Andrew Richardson will join Mallman for two multi-course dinners. The first, a five-course wine dinner offers a collaborative menu with Mallmann's favourite traditional South American dishes created with BC ingredients. The second dinner – a four-course tasting menu – offers optional bottles and by-the-glass selections drawn from CinCin's 1,000 label wine cellar, and selected by wine director Shane Taylor. On both evenings, the chefs will be giving special street-side demonstrations of their craft for the public on Robson Street, right outside CinCin's front door.
